"Hi everyone, my name is Ian and I am a trainee working with Frameworks 4 Change hoping to become a trainer. I talk about my life and the support I need on courses and events. I live in Hove, at the moment I am getting the bus most days to Falmer - there is a new football stadium being built and there is a massive construction site - I chat to the workmen and watch it getting done. I have a rare syndrome called Williams Syndrome. It was only diagnosed 10 years ago when I was 48.
I want to share my experiences of being at Speakout which is an advocacy group that works with the council. I am part of a group which looks at Council documents. We evaluate them and make recommendations to the council. I also want to share my experience of being on the Learning Disability Partnership Board. I was a member of several sub groups, including Supporting People Action Team (SPAT). I have started my ‘My Life Plan’ and want to share it with people because it’s educational and it might give someone else some ideas on how to use My Life Plan. I think people should get help to tell their stories so other people can learn what is important to them."
