Intensive Interaction

Our Vision is To Create Togetherness. We cannot be together if we cannot reach each other through communicating and interacting. Intensive Interaction is based on bringing the level of attention and awareness that parents bring to infants to develop the fundamentals of communication.

Andy Bradley has been working for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and people who are difficult to reach due to some of the ways they behave for 20 years. He has designed this course on the Intensive Interaction approach which begins by exploring the kinds of relationships and values which are necessary for Intensive Interaction to flourish. Participants are invited to explore their motives for being in this work and to examine what is needed to develop a posture of Solidarity in which there is warm and focussed attention and the potential for a respectful two-way flow of communication to emerge. Andy enables delegates to break down the barriers to connecting and communicating in this way, which involves a willingness to be still, to create, to play and to celebrate. The course gives delegates space to consider the detail of how to implement Intensive Interaction in the lives of the people they support.
