"I have been working with people with learning disabilites since 1990 and for most of that time I have been intrigued by the stories they have to tell. Over the last decade of I have been completing Life Story projects with local people. This led me to further study at Sussex University where I recently completed an MA in Life History Research. This gave me the opportunity to inform my practical 'hands-on' experience, with academic research in the field. As a result, in my final dissertation, I drew together what I considered all the best bits of my own and others' work and developed a practical and ethical guide on how to do Life Story research with people with learning disabilities.
I got to know about Frameworks 4 Change through attending training on Person Centred Approaches. I was invited to be part of the team and I am very excited to have the opportunity to reach a wider audience and pass on my passion for doing Life Story work. I have developed my dissertation, 'Nothing About Me, Without Me', into a one day workshop."
